The critical 4 step water tank selection process explained...
Step 1
Catchment
Step 2
Useage
Step 3
Capacity
Step 4
Selection

STEP 1 - Catchment

Establish the potential rainfall and intended
catchment area

First of all we need to determine how many litres of rainwater you could potentially catch in your own circumstances.

There is two main factors that influence this figure. First is the average rainfall of the area you are located in and secondly the size of the catchment area you intend to harvest rainwater from (eg. house or shed roof)

The rainfall calculator makes this job very easy!

100,000 litres of water per year is possibly what you could be catching!

STEP 2 - Useage

Determine your average water useage

Next up we need to figure out the amount of water you will use on average in your situation.

The amount of people you have on your property, area of gardens & lawns or any animals you have can all affect this result

Our water consumption/useage tool will have you an answer in no time!

How many people live in your house?

Do you have a garden/lawn?

What size?

Do you have a any animals?

Dairy Cows
Beef Cattle/Horses
Calves
Sheeps/pigs/goats
Dog
Cat

So, you are potentially using 20,000 litres of water each day!

STEP 3 - Capacity

Nail down the most efficient use of the area
available for a storage tank

Now you need to check the available physical you have available to place your water storage tank.

For some this won't be an issue but for others it could certianly be a necessary consideration. Particuarly if you are needing to fit the tank in between a building and boundary line or fence.

Easy to get this sorted now than later right!

STEP 4 - Selection

Review the available options for the most
efficient sized water storage tank

Once you have completed the previous 3 steps you can now make an informed educated decision around what storage tank you need.

You now have your catchment potential, your useage estimation and physical size limitations (if any)

Now your free to review the best tanks available to suit your own requirements with the water tank selector!
